Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and Inclusion in Valentia is about understanding, appreciating and valuing a person’s uniqueness and differences.  In Valentia, Diversity is focused on the representation and make-up of our company.  Our team is made up of over 16 nationalities across our 70+ employees.

We believe people from different backgrounds, cultures, experiences and viewpoints make us stronger and help us achieve better solutions for our clients.

Inclusion is focused on creating an inclusive place to work in which everyone feels respected and valued.  This enables us to operate as our true self while we achieve success through collaborative, innovative and creative problem solving.

Examples of some of the initiatives and events we worked on last year include:

  • Starting in 2022, we initiated a partnership with ‘The 10,000 Black Interns programme’ and began offering mentorship and support to individuals from the Black community in the workplace.

  • We hosted an LGBTQ+ Breakfast Get-Together as an informational session to exchange ideas and share important facts. Additionally, we celebrated National Inclusion Week by hosting engaging team-building activities in all of our offices.

  • To promote employee well-being, we launched the ‘Take a Break’ initiative during National Mental Health Week, encouraging our employees to schedule some time away from their work and desks to recharge and rest.

  • Lastly, we observed International Food Day by sharing cuisine from diverse cultures and celebrating the unique flavors and traditions they offer.

Women’s Network

Established with the goal of fostering a workplace environment that empowers and supports women to reach their full potential, The Women's Network collaborates closely with the management team to establish an agenda that centers around three key areas.

1. Connections
2. Capabilities
3. Confidence

The group meets on a monthly basis and has a full agenda of interesting discussion points, training, guest speakers and social engagements. The Women’s Network logo designed by the group is a visual representation of the purpose of the group.
